Do you ever wonder how people in the past thought about gender? How did ancient people consider and explore their own gender identities?

The Pitt Classics department and Eta Sigma Phi Honor Society invite you to attend Gender Diversity, Ancient & Modern, to be held Friday, October 4, 3-4:30pm in 501 Cathedral of Learning (on the 5th floor). Brief presentations from student and faculty panelists will discuss ancient and modern ideas about gender, followed by a Q&A where you can get your questions about ancient gender and sexuality answered! After the event, enjoy a reception of light refreshments!

This event will feature the artwork of Avery Schoenberger, the Classics department’s first D. Mark Possanza Equity in Classics Fellow! Find out more about this fellowship, which supports student research, community outreach, creative arts, or curricular enrichment projects that promote equity in the field of Classics, on our website here. (Note that the deadline to apply for Spring fellowships is Nov. 1!) If you have questions about this event or the fellowship, please contact Dr. Ellen Lee.
